Panorama Turns 65

Get ready to go back in time with us this year!

Hey! Remember when...

A lot of good things got their start in 1962. And while it might've not caused the same seismic shift in pop culture that the first Beatles album or James Bond movie had, tucked deep in the Purcell mountains a rope tow with a single run roared to life, and Panorama's very first season began.

This year marks Panorama's 65th season, and we can't wait to celebrate our anniversary with epic après parties, retro-themed events and looking back at over half a century's worth of memories on our slopes!

Plenty of things have changed in the years since Panorama's first opening day. That rope tow has turned into 10 lifts, 2 alpine snowcats climbing over 4,000 metres of vertical — and that single run? Well, it's still there. You know it today as Old Timer, but it's grown into almost 3,000 acres of terrain.

The base has grown from a parking lot and warming shack, to a bustling postcard village — complete with a ski-in ski-out lodging, Canada's largest slopeside hot pools and legendary après spots!

Our community has grown from a small group of devoted skiers in rural British Columbia to extending around the world.

Kicking off our season celebrating 65 years of Panorama — our mountain and our people — want to you to help us!

As you start daydreaming about your first turns this season, dig through your camera roll, or even better crack open those family photo albums and send us your Panorama memories and be part of our 65th celebrations this year!

Whether it happened in 1972 or 2002, we want to see it. Neon tight and bright suits from the 80s? Yep. Your first season pass in 1968? Please! That time you sent it on the halfpipe in 2000's? Send 'em our way!

We'll be highlighting each decade every month this winter, so get ready for a season of celebration!
