MONSTROUS New Terrain
Panorama gets biggggrrrrrrrr!
This winter season, Panorama welcomes a 128-acre (52 hectare) expansion to Taynton Bowl, the resort’s off-piste backcountry-style terrain. This acts as the first phase in the resort’s Mt. Goldie Plateau multi-stage expansion, opening up a new alpine zone to skiers and riders.
Within the expansion guests can anticipate four brand new double black diamond trails added to the resort’s in-bound and patrolled experience, including an additional 75 metres (246 feet) of vertical and a new longest run on the mountain at 6.5 kms (4 mi).
New RFID Technology at lifts
Getting up the slopes each morning has never been so easy.
Panorama is excited to introduce radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology this 2017/18 winter season.
The resort is one of the first in Canada to move the leading ticketing and lift access system which will provide efficient, hands-free lift access to guests. Now, guests can pre-load their lift ticket from home, skip the ticket window, and head straight up the slopes. All lift tickets, frequency cards, and passes will be available on cards, which are embeded with an RFID antenna.
$700,000 invested snowmaking and grooming enhancements.
Our brand new snowmaking pumphouse is a game changer. The addition of a TechnoAlpin twin pump station, above the Mile 1 Express, will enable us to make snow from the base all the way to the top of the Champagne Express, simultaneously. The new automated pump station will significantly increase our snowmaking capacity allowing us to produce more snow, over a larger area. Work on the new pump station has already started and will be ready for pre-season training in November 2017.
In addition, we have a new Prinoth Bison winch snowcat is joining our fleet for the upcoming winter season. This machine has enhanced pulling force and speed, enabling us to be race ready sooner.

More In-bounds Terrain Opens Up.
Jeykll & Hyde adds another 16.2 acres in Taynton
Panorama will again unveil further advancements to the backcountry style terrain of Taynton Bowl with an additional 16.2 acres of expert double black diamond terrain brought in-bounds. The new trail Jekyll and Hyde that runs along the far reaches of Taynton Bowl suites it name perfectly as it has two faces. The trail starts off with glades and a steep descent between two cliffs, and then becomes less forbidding as it opens up into a wide snowfield. Jekyll and Hyde is the first step in the resorts plans to continue to develop the areas within their tenure.
$120,000 of new glading to both the front and backside of the mountain continues to improve Panorama’s off-piste offering. New tree glading through, the Extreme Dream Zone, Summit front-side, and Taynton Bowl’s Whiteroom area, further open up Panorama’s massive acreage to provide new experiences for guests. In the past three years over $400,000 has been invested into enhancing and developing new skiable terrain, with future plans to significantly increase what is currently available.

Panorama has been nominated for North American Resort of the Year in the 2016 World Snow Awards, alongside Whistler Blackcomb, Breckenridge and Tremblant. The awards will be announced on October 27 at The Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Show in London, UK.
This year the village becomes a much easier place for guests to find their way around, get served by the staff and shop online. Careful consideration has been given to enhance directional signage to make wayfinding easier. The resort has seen huge growth in SnowCard loyalty card sales in the last year which has prompted action to streamline the process and to better cater to a larger volume of visitors.
