Panorama Mountain Resort is thrilled to introduce The WILDness, an exhilarating new trail running event set against the stunning backdrop of the Purcell Mountains. Scheduled for June 27–29, 2025, this one or two-day race invites runners to push their limits and embrace the untamed beauty of British Columbia’s alpine wilderness.
Designed for adventurers seeking both physical and mental test, The WILDness offers two distinct stages — runners can choose to compete in either day or take on both for the full experience.
Day 1 (Saturday, June 28): An exhilarating 36 km course with 2,600 meters of elevation gain. Participants will ascend to the resort's highest point, traverse inspiring ridgelines, navigate descents, and weave through conifer forests, all while soaking in panoramic views of the Columbia Valley and the regions highest peaks.
Day 2 (Sunday, June 29): A challenging 13 km route featuring 850 meters of elevation gain. This "All Climb, All Descent" course includes a special timed ascent segment, offering a race-within-a-race experience for those eager to test their uphill speed.
“As the premier destination resort in the region, we wanted to create something truly special. It’s an event that builds camaraderie, challenges participants to push their limits and showcases the raw beauty of our surroundings,” said Steve Paccagnan, President and CEO at Panorama Mountain Resort. “The WILDness is more than just a race, it’s a full outdoor experience that lets runners and their families enjoy everything the resort has to offer. After a big day on the mountain, there’s nothing better than unwinding in the Panorama Springs Pools, sharing a cold drink and savouring some incredible food together.”
The event is proudly sponsored by Rossignol, a brand known for its top-tier multi-sport outdoor gear and apparel. Now expanding into the trail running world, Rossignol brings an impressive new lineup of performance-driven gear, apparel and accessories.
“We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with our partners at Panorama on their inaugural trail running event, the WILDness,” said Nick Castagnoli, Sr Brand Director, Rossignol. “We each share a long-term vision to support and inspire the trail running community. And after Rossignol’s exciting and successful launch into the trail running segment this past spring, the timing to grow our partnership year-round is perfect. We hope everyone will come out to race and/or spectate. We’ll have plenty of Rossignol shoes to test and fun giveaways throughout the weekend."
Categories include Open Men & Women and 40+ Men & Women. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each category for each stage, as well as overall combined times. The registration deadline is June 26, 2025 and participation fees range from $89 to $199. Runners can take advantage of 35% off lodging at Panorama Mountain Resort during the race weekend.
