Yes, a face covering that fully covers your nose and mouth in the following areas by everyone 3 years and older. You can remove your face covering when charging down the slopes but you'll need to pull it up again before getting back in the lift line.
Please know that the popular 'Airhole' type masks are not acceptable face coverings. If our team can see your mouth, your nose, or your covering has holes in it, we will ask you to find an alternative.

Yes, in some areas where it is more difficult to physically distance. We have created maps of the core areas of the resort for your understanding and compliance. Red means mask or face coverings are mandatory. Masks must also be worn on the summit of the mountain, from the Summit Quad offload around the Summit Hut to the Taynton Bowl gate - this includes the Summit Hut deck.

At Panorama face masks that cover both mouth and nose will be worn by people aged 3 (as stipulated by the Canadian Centre for Disease Control) and older in all indoor spaces. The only time a mask can be removed is when seated for meal or drink service. Our team will ask anyone not wearing a mask to put one on or leave the premises. Please know that we reserve the right to refuse entry to any facility and service.
At this time, we are unable to accommodate visitors who for medical or other reasons are exempt from wearing a mask or face covering. Simply put, if you are 3 years of age or older, you must wear an appropriate face covering (mask, buff, balaclava, neck tube) that fully covers both your mouth and nose, in all areas of the resort and mountain, that require them.
Yes, physical distancing of 2 metres is encouraged throughout the resort (indoors and outdoors). Please give people space and try not to get close to people who are not part of your family, cohort or bubble.
Skis and snowboards help nicely with this in the lift line. To minimize lift wait times, you are able to load the chairlift with people outside of your family, cohort or bubble, if you feel comfortable with that. A face covering is required at all times. If you don't feel comfortable with that just let our lift attendants know when you approach the lift.
There is clear instructional signage all around the resort, detailing capacity limits or special restrictions. Please make sure you read and understand posted signs as you travel through the village or enter any establishment.
We’ve installed hand sanitization stations in all indoor facilities and select outdoor locations too - sanitize every time you head indoors. Wash your hands often, avoid touching your face, and sneeze or cough into your elbow.
Most importantly, if you are sick please stay at home and do not visit Panorama unless you are feeling 100% better. Panorama Mountain Resort reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who is visibly ill and may be placing other guests or employees at risk.

Our plans are focused on getting people out of the village and up onto the mountain as quickly and efficiently as possible. Remember, Panorama is ranked #1 in the world for most space per skier*, so there’s plenty of room to spread out. We are able to make changes to the plan if required by the provincial government and will follow any guidelines to the letter to ensure we all enjoy the longest possible season.

In alignment with our partners at Lake Louise, we are implementing a reservation system for Lake Louise Plus Card holders in effect from December 26.Lake Louise Plus Card (LLPC) holders will need to make a reservation through our online portal to be able to pick-up their day ticket and access the mountain. Buying online limits your time in lines and limits exposure to other people. This winter, we have moved nearly all our tickets and passes to be sold online only. Guest Services and the Ticket Window become simply a pick up point for RFID cards loaded with tickets and passes which were pre-purchased online. Lines will be set up to ensure physical distancing and shields will ensure separation between you and our team members.
Once you have your RFID card our system allows you to reload day tickets, season passes and SNOW+ Cards online, so on your following visit you an go straight to the lift. All you need is a Panorama Advantage Card.
If you already have an Advantage Card, log into our online store or give us a call at 1.800.663.2929 and we can add products directly to the ticket/pass you already have. Don't have an Advantage Card? No stress, you'll still purchase your ticket online and then collect your unique RFID card from the Guest Services ticket window before heading to the lift, after that you're all ready to reload online for next time.
In case of Covid-19 exposure we’ll be able to help Interior Health contact you more easily. Please know that we will not sell tickets to walk-up guests like we have in the past. If you don’t have a ticket, you can buy online on the day you want to ski, just wake up, check the forecast and purchase or reload your pass online while heading to the resort.
Our RFID system also means ticket validation at the lift is 100% hands free, so our staff don't need to come close to you to scan your ticket.
Exceptions and reasons for visiting Guest Services:
Mountain Collective pass holders do not require a reservation to ski or ride at Panorama Mountain Resort during the 2020-21 winter season. On your first day, please bring a printout of your purchase confirmation (with barcode) and photo identification to an outside ticket window at the Ski Tip Lodge. Pass holders can opt for pre-arrival fulfillment by mail, which is available through your Mountain Collective account.
While waiting to load any lifts, you’ll be required to wear a face covering over your mouth and nose and stay 2 metres apart from people you don’t know (skis really help with this). Our lift corrals will be organized differently to make this as easy as possible.
To keep skiers and riders moving, on busy days guests will be able to load chairs with others who are not part of their bubble (remember face coverings are mandatory). If you are not comfortable with this then please speak to a lift attendant and we’ll make sure there is distance on your chair. We will follow the guidelines and best practices of provincial authorities and the Canada West Ski Area Association (CWSAA) and procedures are subject to change.
Note that face coverings can be removed once you move away from the lift and start to ski or ride. Your mask, neck warmer, balaclava or buff must be pulled back up over your face at the bottom of the lift.
Will lift lines be longer than normal?
They might look longer, but that won't necessarily mean there are more people at the resort than normal. Lift lines are a rare sight at Panorama, but physical distancing spreads people out.
Our lift tickets are reusable, RFID enabled cards. The chairlift gate automatically reads this card to allow you to load the lift with minimal contact with our lift attendants. They can also be reloaded in advance so you can go direct to lift on your next ski day.
If you do not have a black and white, RFID enabled Panorama lift ticket (known as an Advantage Card) you will bring your online order confirmation to the Guest Services Ticket Window in the upper village and collect your lift ticket. You now have a reusable and reloadable lift ticket and can add more days online or by calling Central Reservations on 1.800.663.2929.
Yes, that's the plan. The 2020/21 winter season is scheduled to open on December 11 and run through April 11. Snowmaking started mid October, to ensure the maximum amount of terrain is available for you on opening day. Taynton Bowl and the Extreme Zone will open when snow conditions allow. With a full crew of lift operators hired we plan to operate all lifts. Great news, forecasters are calling for a La Niña winter and more snow than normal!
Yes, Monster X will run and there is even more terrain to explore. At this stage we expect to load the cabin to capacity with all riders required to wear face coverings throughout the 10 minute journey, but this may change closer to the season. No face covering, no ride.
As normal tickets must be purchased in advance. Single ride, 4-pack tickets and Monster X season passes will be available as normal this season. The Monster X season pass is available for purchase online now and single ride/4-pack tickets will be available from the Guest Services ticket windows.
A small number of reserved / paid, season long parking spaces are now available for purchase in the Upper Lot. You can find pricing and more details, here.
Other than these spaces all other parking is free, will not need to be reserved, and is first come, first served as normal. Parking attendants will be there to assist. Parking is available in the Upper Lot, two lower lots and at the Greywolf clubhouse with access via the Sunbird Chair.
Note that large / long vehicles, vehicles with trailers and RVs are not permitted in the Upper Lot but can park in the Lower Lot.
Overnight camping is not permitted in any parking lot during the winter season. Our Safety Services team patrol lots regularly at night and will ask for camping units to be removed immediately.
Yes, on weekends and at busy times our team will actively help you park in the appropriate place, with distancing in mind. Please follow the instructions of parking attendants.
As of November 23, 2020, we intend to offer the Invermere-Panorama shuttle to employees, local riders and guests this coming winter season. A temperature check is mandatory before boarding - riders with elevated temperatures may be refused service. Masks are mandatory for all riders. No mask, no service, no exceptions! If you are ill with cold or flu-like symptoms, please choose to stay at home.
Each venue is closely following all orders issued by the BC Public Health Office. As of March 30, the Province of British Columbia requires all venues to operate for takeout or patio service only (with no more than 6 people at a table). This applies to all restaurants, eateries and bars (including those not operated by Panorama such as the mountain huts). Operating hours of some venues are also reduced at this time.
We cannot host social events or gatherings under the current public health restrictions in BC.
Will everything be open, all the time?
No, some outlets will be open 7-days a week, some may operate on a reduced schedule, some may be takeout or by reservation only at certain times. Hours of operation will vary through the winter season, but you can be sure that great coffee and delicious food will always be available.
We have added a new dome tent to the Great Hall Patio to provide additional seating to the Great Hall. The Great Hall, Fireside Cafe and T-Bar & Grill offer walk in dining options. The Copper Crown room is open for BYO lunches and warm up breaks. The beauty of Panorama Mountain Resort is that it’s a village - hundreds of skiers and riders have their own private day lodge (home, condo, or hotel room). If you want to eat out, consider changing your routine and eating before or after your usual lunch time. If you are visiting for the day, please store your gear in your car and consider having quick breaks there during the day.
Remember that a face mask is required in all indoor public spaces on the mountain and in the village, and in any outdoor mask up zones as indicated by signage around the resort.
Yes, all indoor spaces will have reduced capacity and in some instances reduced hours. Both the Summit Hut and Elkhorn Cabin will offer inside dining by reservation only. Please be flexible, consider having lunch early or late, or reserve in advance. Be prepared, throw an energy bar in your pocket for a snack on the go. Have a few hand warmers ready too.
The Panorama Springs warm pool and hot tubs will be open this winter. At this time the sauna will remain closed. Building specific hot tubs are being managed privately and some may choose to re-open with their own specific protocols in place.
Capacity within the Panorama Springs Pools area is reduced and noted on signage beside each pool or hot tub. Please abide by capacity limits for each hot tub and pool. A 1 hour time limit is in place. You are welcome to return to the pools multiple times and we thank all guests for respecting these time blocks to ensure that all guests can enjoy some pool time. If the pools are not busy, you are able to ask our staff if you can extend your time.
All guests are required to sign-in at the desk when entering the Panorama Springs Pools complex and to sign out prior to leaving. Towels and the change rooms are available.
Masks are mandatory in the entryway lobby and in the change rooms. Masks are not permitted to be worn in the pools or on the pools deck. As per Interior Health wet masks do not work and they could cause a choking hazard if worn in the pools.
Life jackets will not be provided so please bring your own or an appropriate form of wearable flotation device for your child.
This is not the season for a party. The Province of British Columbia has ordered that only registered occupants are allowed in any vacation/rental accommodation at all times, and prohibits indoor gatherings of any size with anyone who is not a registered occupant of your lodging. On March 11, the rules around outdoor gatherings were amended to allow for up to 10 people to get together.
Remember 11:00pm is quiet time, so everyone can make the most of powder the next day.

Yes. We were one of the first resorts to offer a more relaxed Covid-19 cancellation policy and we'll continue to do that through the winter season. Simply, you are protected if restrictions put in place by the Government of Canada, your provincial jurisdiction, or home country prevent you from travelling. Current guidelines prevent us from entering your unit between arrival and departure, unless for essential maintenance. You can call us anytime for fresh bedding and linens. We ask that you take care of your garbage during your stay – garbage rooms are located in every lodging property.
Rigorous cleaning and sanitization takes time. BC Provincial guidelines require a period of time for air transfer before we can enter any unit to service it. Because of this and the extra time it takes to ready each unit, please plan to check-in no earlier than 5:00pm and check-out no later than 11:00am.
Programs will run daily from December 19 with pre-registration required. All day and special programs will not include supervised lunch or après ski components this year. Face coverings will be required for all participants at all times during a lesson, including when skiing and riding.
Lunch times for full day programs have been extended to 90 minutes (12PM - 1PM) to allow enough time to warm up and have lunch. Parents will need to collect their children for lunch at 12PM.

We are making changes in Mountain Outfitters to ensure physical distancing and to make the process as quick and safe as possible. We encourage you to pre-purchase your equipment package before you come to the resort. Helmets and boots will be available for rent and will be rigorously sanitized before pick-up as will all rental equipment.
There will be a capacity limits inside the shop, as well as within each section of the rental process. Floor markers and barriers are in place to ensure physical distancing.
Entrances and exits have been changed to improve the flow if rentals so please read the signage and use the appropriate doors.
It is worth noting there will be limited space for you to leave shoes or personal items and that this is solely on a first come first serve basis. Please be prepared to carry your shoes and other items in a backpack or return them to your car or accommodation.
All equipment will be rigorously sanitized in between uses and the shop itself will be regularly cleaned and sanitized.
When picking up rentals we encourage you to allow extra time in case of delays, and to follow signs and staff directions. The return process has been adjusted for minimal contact and efficiency, this includes racks and containers for you to leave your rentals in before entering the store.

Yes. The locker room will be available for storage, although use will change a little. Face coverings must be worn at all times. Gearing up in the room will not be permitted and benches will be removed. There will be limited and distanced seating at the base of the T-Bar stairs. For this year, it's unlock, grab and go. We ask you to use contactless payment in all situations. All major credit cards and debit card are accepted. Note that lift tickets, Ski + Ride programs and possibly rental equipment will need to be ordered and paid for in advance.
Yes, the keys for the gym will be hard keys that can be picked up at Front Desk (Central Check-In). The last time slot available for any given day will be 8 PM and the keys must be returned to Front Desk by 9:45 PM. In exchange for a key you will need to provide either a credit card or a driver license which will be returned to you when you return the key.

As one of Canada’s leading destination resorts, it’s our desire to offer you as much fun as we can. This season is different (and hopefully a one off), so there will be things we just can’t do. The safety of our community is our priority and decisions to suspend offerings are based on challenges around physical distancing, group gathering limits and sanitization.
Our employees are the backbone of our company and we are committed to keeping each of our team members safe. Here is an overview of the measures we have put in place to ensure they are safe in the workplace and go home healthy at the end of every day.
We have ensured that hand sanitizer is widely available to each staff member and that they understand the importance of frequent and thorough hand washing. Staff are provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate to their role, including a mask or face covering, gloves and a face shield. Requirements to wear PPE may vary depending on the tasks a team member is completing.
In indoor public workspaces, such as Front Desk and Guest Services, clear barriers have been installed to create separation between staff and guests.
In April 2020, a new staff training program was developed which covers proper personal hygiene protocol, COVID-19 disease transmission methods, signs, symptoms and proper cleaning protocol. This training program has been regularly updated as guidance from Public Health authorities and WorkSafe BC has evolved. It will continue to be updated on an ongoing basis.
If staff are ill they are required to stay home and not come to work. Our staff illness policy has been adjusted to support any staff member who may be feeling sick or who has a member of their household experiencing COVID like symptoms.
Panorama provides employee accommodation to seasonal staff and changes have been made to mitigate the risk of COVID in these properties. Procedures are in place should a staff member need to self-isolate or become sick while staying in employee housing.
New operating procedures have been introduced to protect our staff and wider community. Depending on the ability to physical distance in the workspace, some staff are have new office arrangements and others use PPE.
Start and break times have been staggered for some departments and meetings are conducted virtually whenever possible.
Staff orientation and training is being conducted in smaller groups with more of the program online.
Changes have also been made to high touch point areas such as time clocks.
