Race Training Centre

In March 2007, Panorama Mountain Village and Alpine Canada Alpin announced the creation of a new training centre for Canadian ski racers. Panorama has committed exclusive space and a dedicated run, complete with permanent safety facilities on a season-long basis. The initiative is also going to make the staging of competition at all levels much easier.

Why is Panorama The Ideal Race Training Venue?

Panorama has runs and terrain suitable for all alpine disciplines. The B.C. Rockies generally experience cold clear weather through October and November - perfect for snowmaking. Racers prefer machine-made snow for training as it best replicates conditions they are likely to compete on through the season.

Who Manages The Race Teams?

Glenn Wurtele ensures that race teams maximize the value of their training time at Panorama. Glenn has been with Panorama for 14 years and is best-known for his work as Head Coach of the Canadian Men's Team during the 'Crazy Canuck' era.
