How do I get to Panorama?

FLY: Calgary International Airport is the place where travelers from Toronto, New York, London, Berlin, and Wellington get their first glimpse of the Rocky Mountains. There are regular motor coach connections from the airport to Panorama.

DRIVE: Drive one of the world's great mountain highways through the Banff and Kootenay National Parks. Roads are well maintained - you won't need a 4WD. If you need to rent a car, call our partner National Car Rental on 1 800 227 7368.

Directions:

1. From Calgary, travel west on Highway 1 (the Trans Canada Highway) through Canmore and Banff.

2. About 30km west of Banff exit the Trans Canada at Castle Junction (at the end of the divided highway). Then take Highway 93 through Kootenay National Park towards Radium Hot Springs.

3. After about an hour and a quarter you'll arrive at Radium - turn south here and travel a few kilometres on Highway 93/95 to Invermere.

4. At Invermere you'll arrive at a set of traffic lights, with a Tim Hortons on your left. Turn right and drive through the outskirts of town past Lake Windermere.

5. Just after the lake you'll cross a rail bridge. Take the next right on to Panorama Drive.

6. Now it's just 18km to Panorama. You'll drive through an industrial area and wind through remote feeling pastureland and forest but don't worry you're on the right track and we are waiting for you!
